Why does a free society need a Political Sheepdog?
A sheepdog is raised as a member of a flock of sheep. By its nature and training, a sheepdog defends its pack against wolves and other packs. The PoliticalSheepdog.com flock consists of citizens of a democracy. The sheepdogs are innovators who create better laws and voters who support these laws that protect the interests of the flock. Sheepdogs also defend the public (the “consumers” of public policy) from political wolves and foxes, who tend to feather their own nests at the expense of taxpayers.
PoliticalSheepdog.com will help constituents win back control of their legislatures. Legislators will have a new forum for hearing the voice of concerned citizens. Giving citizens a voice and an investment in good public policy will invigorate democracy and make it healthier.

Who are the “Sheepdogs”?

There are two groups of Sheepdogs. The first is a lobby of informed citizens who want to have a say in developing and supporting effective, efficient public policies. The second group of Sheepdogs is made up of any individuals who originate ideas for public policies that will save lives and money.

PoliticalSheepdog.com pairs citizens and innovators to offset the powerful influence of special interest groups that currently shape much of public policy. PoliticalSheepdog.com will give a forum and a voice to a new consumer group – citizens who want to make a difference in the development of public policy. It will also provide an invitation for creative people in free societies to contribute brain power to address tough, costly issues, such as corruption, the penal system, and a variety of other social ills.

Isn’t voting at the polls enough?

Individual citizens currently have very little say over the development of public policy. The vote allows us a “yes” or “no” regarding proposed legislators, but this is really an indirect say-so for our legislation. As citizens, we do not now directly influence the development of the laws that govern us.

The average citizen has very little influence on law-making individually compared to big special interest groups. Politicians listen to powerful lobbies that can contribute to their election campaigns. PoliticalSheepdog.com will give a voice to any registered voter in good standing. PoliticalSheepdog.com will help make representatives accountable to their constituents when public policies are being developed.

How can ordinary voters become paid lobbyists?

COMPUTER ACCESS – Any registered voter with access to an online computer can participate. Citizens who do not own computers can visit the library, their places of worship, or their friends who have computers -- or citizens can form cooperatives to share computer access. Several companies offer free Internet accounts. In the future, citizens without computers or computer skills may be able to hire professional bidders or “brokers” to handle the bidding phase of their involvement.

GOOD STANDING – Voters will be screened to attempt to verify that they are registered and in good standing.
